ABOUT ME

who i am

So are you an artist or a lawyer? The number of times that I have been asked that question is incredible. Yet I find it to be a totally perplexing question. I am confident that my general response that I am a polymath is equally confusing. I am quite conscientious that the term “polymath” may sound a bit eccentric and obtuse. However, I am totally convinced that it is the most accurate term for what I am and what I wish to be.

My professional philosophy

In America today we are very focused on the concept of “experts.” Every company wants to have an expert in a given specialty. While there is no doubt of the need of experts, the problem arises when you have a group of men and women who, while consummate experts in each of their chosen fields, have little to no understanding of what the other experts in their company are doing. This concept is often referred to as “silos.” You may have the greatest accountant in the world but, if she or he does not understand the challenges of being an engineer, your company is going to run into inherent bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
